Description
Collection of all the eight wonderful musical films "America's Singing Sweethearts," Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, made together at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer between 1935-1942. Note: This is NOT an official collection of their movies; each movie file was recorded off television from a showing on the Turner Classic Movies Channel. They are not of optimal visual and audio quality, but still good enough for a secondary transfer. Both "Sweethearts" and "Bitter Sweet" were originally filmed in three-strip Technicolor; "The Girl of the Golden West" was filmed in sepia, and the rest of the movies are in black-and-white. "Naughty Marietta," "Rose-Marie," "Sweethearts," "Bitter Sweet," and "I Married an Angel" were directed by W.S. Van Dyke, and "Maytime," "The Girl of the Golden West," and "New Moon" were directed by Robert Z. Leonard.
