Jekyll and Hyde: Season 1, Ep 1
Dubbed "Downton with monsters" by its writer Charlie Higson, the ITV UK drama premiered Sunday October 25.
With the time changed from 1860's London to 1930's London, the series is based on the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel of the same name and follows the story of Jekyll's grandson, Dr Robert Jekyll, who has a monster called Hyde suppressed within him. A lot bloodier than the novel or previous movies, the series is a bit of Downton Abbey mixed with Sherlock mixed with a bit of Harry Potter mixed with .... well, a lot of blood. Good reviews overall but some people were expecting it was a "child friendly" show, which it is not. Good take on the classic novel, and it fits well with the 1930's time revision (h)
