Description
John Mayall - Jazz Blues Fusion
Recorded :1971 Released : 1972 CD Released : 1996 Label : Polydor Format : Flac This 1972 album was recorded live in Boston and New York City in late 1971. It is an accurate reflection of it's title. It features Larry Taylor on bass, guitarist, Freddy Robinson, Ron Selico on percusion, Clifford Solomon, sax and veteran jazz trumpeter Blue Mitchell. The interplay between Robisnon's guitar and Mitchell's trumpet is one of the highlights of this set. At the time it was a critical failure and public perception was little better, however, it is an album that has stood up well as the years have gone by. A cannot miss for some fantastic, ahead of its time, Blues with a Jazz flavour album, even if you are or are not a Mayall fan but love Blues and Jazz.
