The electro and synthpop ballad was written by Ester Dean with production from Dr. Luke and lyrically speaks of the darker side of a relationship that outsiders never see. Critics have praised the song as being classy for carrying more emotion that the international lead single, "Commander" and have described Rowland's vocals as smooth. It was released on June 29, 2010 to North American radio and for digital download as one of two North American lead singles in anticipation for the album which hits stores on September 21, 2010.
