audio info: PCM, 2, 14100Hz., 1411.2Kbps Killer Dwarfs were formed in Toronto in the early '80s. The group consisted of Russ Dwarf, lead vocals; Darrell Dwarf, drums; Ron Dwarf, bass; and Mike Dwarf on gu tars. When Mike took off in 1982 he was replaced by Jerry Dwarf. Besides the unusual name, leader Russ was known for his on-stage antics, including somersaults and tricycle riding. They debuted on record in 1983 with "The Killer Dwarfs," which was issued on Canada's Attic label. Their next album, "Stand Tall," was issued by Maze in Canada and Grudge in the U.S. It got enough airplay and fan reaction that their next release, "Big Deal," was picked up by CBS of Canada, which also signed them to that label's Epic division in the U.S. "Big Deal" came out in the spring of 1988, sporting a hard rock sound one critic compared to that of Dokken. Intensive touring helped push the album onto the U.S. charts, their first release to accomplish that feat. A year later their self-titled Canadian debut was issued in the States by GWP Records. The Dwarfs' next official release was "Dirty Weapons," which Epic put out in the spring of 1990. Another hard mix of powerful hooks and rowdy vocals, the album charted for nine weeks on the Billboard album listing. In 1992 they issued their final album, "Method To The Madness." Ironically, it would also be their most praised release, cited by one critic as "what is easily their most ambitious, unified chunk of product to date." The first single, "Hard Luck Town," received some, airplay but despite the positive reviews, and the band soon went their separate ways. Killer Dwarfs left a legacy of power- ful rock leavened by a rough-edged humor, especially on stage. It's been a while since their best work - done for Epic - has been available and that's why Collectables is so pleased to issue their first two albums in separate packages, each with bonus cuts from "Method To The Madness." 1 Dirty Weapons.flac 2 Nothin' Gets Nothin' 3 All That We Dream 4 Doesn't Matter 5 Last Laugh 6 Comin' Through 7 One Way Out 8 Appeal.flac 9 Not Foolin' 10 Want It Bad 11 Method To Madness 12 Give And Take 13 Look Around 14 GTY (Goodbye To Yesterday) 15 Cowboys And Conmen Enjoy!! -Moe B.
