It is the 1st English fictional adventure novel set in Africa, & is considered to be the genesis of the Lost World literary genre. She: A History of Adventure is a novel by H. Rider Haggard, 1st serialized in The Graphic from October 1886 to January 1887. In reprints it was extraordinarily popular in its time, & has remained in print to the present day. She is generally considered to be one of the classics of imaginative literature & with 83 million copies sold by 1965, one of the best-selling books of all time.
