Description

KNUCKLEDUST born in east London summer of '96, when Ray Nick and Wema contacted Pierre from north west London to join on vocals. The reason, to support London hardcore.
Writing their first song 'persevere' and covering the east London boys original 3piece band Mental Torment to record the London hardcore demo.
Recorded at St. Marks community centre in the Beckton housing district in East London, on a second hand 4track by themselves, while starting to establish themselves as a brutal in your face live band.
Together with Stampin’ Ground , Area Effect, Ninebar, FLS and Vehemence KNUCKLEDUST helped found a new era in London hardcore history.
The years that followed were exciting times, with similar small scenes around the UK communicating more and becoming true allies in the war to keep hardcore alive here.
KNUCKLEDUST helped open many new channels of communication with their style of old mixed with brutal new hardcore and DIY attitude appealing to other underground scenes as much as it did to the UKHC. Word quickly spread that KNUCKLEDUST was here to stay.
For years playing every pub, club and shit-hole they could get into to help fund their first recordings, a 7" split on London’s Black-Up records with Manchester Youth Crew Area Effect. Together forging strong bonds between the north and southern scenes.
Days of Fury records in Liverpool gave KNUCKLEDUST their first digital release titled 'London Hardcore' consisting of a 7track MCD from the gutter.
Soon after starting a long relationship working with Household Name record/Dischord Inferno on various splits and compilation CD’s which only helped gain KNUCKLEDUST more attention from outside the UK and better support slots within it.
2000 saw KNUCKLEDUST join forces with Blackfish records, the label founded by their long time friend Ian Glasper from Stampin’ Ground to produce their first full length 'time won’t heal this'.
Undertaking numerous UK tours and constantly pushing ‘time won’t heal this’ on the masses, even having the album released in the states by Thorp records, gained them the attention of GSR Music from the Netherlands.
Offered the opportunity to have their second full length recorded by Tue Madsen at Antfarm studios in Denmark, the outcome of this collaboration was the 13 track 'Universal Struggle'.
Support across Europe increased and KNUCKLEDUST focused on getting their sound heard by the scene on the main land and further afield.
Getting offered the RESISTANCE TOUR with Madball, Suicidal Tendencies, Ignite, Sworn Enemy, Backfire, Death By Stereo and Length of Time helped prove to Europe that London city had a style strong enough to stand on its own.
In 2005 GSR Music sent Ray, Nic, Wema and Pierre back into Antfarm and produced their strongest output to date, the aptly titled 'UNBREAKABLE'.
September 2005, its time for some rucktion now the world can have a taste of one of London hardcore’s truest supporters.
