E se un vostro amico vi confidasse di avere 14.000 anni? È questo quanto accade ad un ristretto gruppo di colleghi ed amici riunitisi per salutare la partenza del professore universitario John Oldman (David Lee Smith). L'eterogeneo e scettico gruppo di accademici segue il discorso di John incalzandolo con domande allo scopo di portare alla luce qualche falla nella sua incredibile storia: biologi, archeologi, teologi, psicanalisti analizzano ciascuno dalla propria peculiare prospettiva l'insolita narrazione dando vita ad una sorta di gioco dell'"e se..." che coinvolgerà i partecipanti tanto intellettualmente quanto emotivamente infino ad esiti inaspettati.
