TRAMA:

Poco prima che il pianeta Krypton venga definitivamente distrutto, lo scienziato Jor-El riesce a spedire il figlio neonato Kal-El sulla Terra, suscitando le ire del Generale Zod. Sul nostro pianeta Kal-El cresce con la consapevolezza di essere diverso e di avere un giorno una missione da portare a termine. Capirà che deve salvare il genere umano poco prima dell'arrivo di Zod, che intende seminare morte e devastazione. Ne L'Uomo d'Acciaio diretto da Zack Snyder, troviamo Henry Cavill nel ruolo di Clark Kent/Superman. Il film è interpretato anche da Amy Adams nel ruolo della giornalista del Daily Planet Lois Lane, e da Laurence Fishburne in quello del direttore del giornale, Perry White. Nel ruolo dei genitori adottivi di Clark Kent, Martha e Jonathan Kent, ci sono Diane Lane e Kevin Costner. A combattere contro il supereroe sono due altri Kryptoniani sopravvissuti, il malvagio Generale Zod, interpretato da Michael Shannon e Faora, interpretata da Antje Traue. Originari di Krypton sono anche i genitori biologici di Superman, la madre Lara Lor-Van, interpretata da Ayelet Zurer e il padre Jor-El, interpretato dal premio Russell Crowe. Nel cast anche Harry Lennix, nel ruolo del Generale Swanwick, Christopher Meloni in quello del Colonnello Hardy e Richard Schiff che interpreta il Dr. Emil Hamilton.

STORYLINE:

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.
