Nel 1921, a Tebe, tre archeologi di una spedizione del British Museum scoprono un sarcofago contenente la mummia del sacerdote Imhotep e, uno di questi, leggendo un papiro ritrovato nei

pressi della bara, riporta in vita il millenario sacerdote. La mummia fugge con il papiro e prende le sembianze, undici anni più tardi, di Ardath Bey, che, nell'intenzione di riportare in

vita la sua antica amata Anck-Su-Namun, fornisce indizi sull'ubicazione della tomba di lei a un'équipe di archeologi; in Helen Grosvenor, fidanzata di uno degli archeologi cui si era

rivolto, vede la reicarnazione di Anck-Su-Namun e tenterà di tutto per rapirla e sacrificarla durante il rito. La mummia Ardath Bey riesce ad organizzare la cerimonia, ma il................

Storyline:

In 1921 a field expedition in Egypt discovers the mummy of ancient Egyptian prince Im-Ho-Tep, who was condemned and buried alive for sacrilege. Also found in the tomb is the Scroll of

Thoth, which can bring the dead back to life. One night a young member of the expedition reads the Scroll out loud, and then goes insane, realizing that he has brought Im-Ho-Tep back to

life. Ten years later, disguised as a modern Egyptian, the mummy attempts to reunite with his lost love, an ancient princess who has been reincarnated into a beautiful young woman........
