Laura Welsh - Hollow Drum

As heard in Grey's Anatomy S09E18, "Idle Hands". Laura Welsh does not only almost share a surname with Florence Welch, her sound is somewhat reminiscent to the big-voiced redhead as well. Where Florence adds dramatic drums to her repertoire, Laura opts for a more intimate and direct way and prefers to work with just a piano. It has its effect, as it puts her bright voice in a well-deserved spotlight and makes you feel all cosy and romantic inside. In Hollow Drum she sings “it’s the sounds of our hearts getting louder”, which may be the perfect way to describe her music.
