Sherlock Holmes e Watson vengono convocati dal Re di Boemia per recuperare delle foto compromettenti che lo ritraggono assieme a una donna, Irene Adler. Grazie ad un astuto stratagemma Holmes riesce ad ingannare la donna ed a rintracciare il luogo dove sono tenute nascoste la foto, ma lei sospettosa riesce a scappare suscitando l'ammirazione del detective.
