Led Zeppelin 1975-02-16 Missouri Arena St. Louis, MO Bertha Remaster of the SBD Bootleg "St. Louis Blues" By Empress Valley Supreme Disk Set List: d1t01-Rock and Roll d1t02-Sick Again d1t03-Over The Hills And Far Away d1t04-In My Time Of Dying d1t05-The Song Remains The Same d1t06-The Rain Song d1t07-Kashmir d2t01-No Quarter d2t02-Trampled Underfoot d2t03-Moby Dick d3t01-Dazed & Confused d3t02-Stairway To Heaven d3t03-Whole Lotta Love d3t04-Black Dog d3t05-Heart-Breaker (incl: 'Shame, Shame, Shame')Notes by Jay: Digitally remastered using a custom built, Dual-DAW, nicknamed "Bertha", by jashley@deadacated.com. Completed on January 11, 2005. Under Spectral and Wav analysis, the original source was found to have excessive audio compression applied, and some type of noise reduction. By listening test only, the original source was found to have excessive high end eq applied. Together, the audio compression and eq have resulted in a highly abrasive sound at flat setting. The noise reduction was well done and did not affect the "Bertha" process. Most "Bertha Remasters" are done using original, unprocessed sources. The less that has been done to an original source the better the results. Reversing the effects of a highly processed source such as this one is very difficult. I did not expect much, but I am pleased with the results. The original track timings were used for retracking. This is the first Non GD related "Bertha Remaster". Enjoy! Please do not sell, or convert to MP3. This recording is meant to be shared and traded freely. Cheers! Comments: The show itself is an excellent closing night for the first half of the tour. The band carries the momentum of their great closing show in Nassau. During his intro for The Song Remains The Same, Plant refers to Kansas City and that John Bonham was arrested there once! Before No Quarter John Paul Jones is finishing a gin and tonic before he can start playing and tonight's version is very strong, sounding very dark and foreboding. Dazed And Confused and Stairway To Heaven are both outstanding. Sharing Widget |
