Plot summary




A movie edit of the Wing Chun TV series, a 2007 remake of the 1994 series that preceded the film "Wing Chun". This film has not officially been released since it has been banned in Mainland China for containing too much violence. This DVD came from the USA and only has mandarin as the language, and the editing has some problems at times; music will only be used for a couple seconds for a shot then switched to different music in a scene following. It makes it feel cut up, even if it perhaps isn't.

Shuang Long Ji/Legend of Twin Dragons(tentative) originally planned for release this summer(2007), has been barred from theatrical screenings in Mainland on the grounds of its violence. The director does not wish to alter the film as it would affect the plot and continuity. It is possible that it will go straight to video instead. On the other hand, Universe Films is trying to sort things out with the Mainland censors. “This is Edited with The Major Violent" parts removed till the Censors figure out what to do to the violence in the fight scenes. Aside from some implied bloody happenings near the middle, the fight scenes are clean and generally not overly violent. Blood is used only sparingly.

Adapted from the 1982 kung fu classic The Prodigal Son, 2007 period drama Wing Chun teams legendary martial arts stars Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao with Hong Kong heartthrob Nicholas Tse. Yuen Biao is martial arts master Liang Zan, the same role he played in the The Prodigal Son, but he who was once young and rash is now a respected master and physician, not to mention the father of two sons. Liang Zan must pass on his kung fu skills to the next generation, but his son Liang Bi(Nicholas Tse) is reckless, aimless, and irresponsible, much like him in his youth. Growing up in the chaos of early 1900s China, Liang Bi encounters countless troubles and trials, romance(with Hong Kong actress Rain Li), and a certain playful white-haired kung fu master (Sammo Hung)who teaches him the art of Wing Chun.
