Lene Marlin (born August 17, 1980) is a Norwegian musician. She was born Lene Marlin Pedersen in Tromsø, Norway.

Marlin made her Norwegian debut on October 12, 1998, with the single "Unforgivable Sinner", which proved to be a

hit as it reached number one and kept that position for eight weeks. It was also the fastest selling single in

Norwegian music history, and appeared in the soundtrack of the Norwegian movie Schpaaa. It was followed by her

first album, Playing My Game. She won an MTV Europe award in 1999. Her single "Where I'm Headed", from the French

film, Mauvaises fréquentations, topped the charts in France and Italy. Her song "Sitting Down Here" became a top

5 hit in the UK singles chart in 1999/2000. Lene Marlin's second album, Another Day, was released on May 6, 2003

With two singles being released "You Weren't There" and "Another Day". "You Weren't There" achieved success in

Norway, as the song debut at No. 1 on Norway Singles Top 20 and remained on the chart for 11 weeks. It also stayed

for 24 weeks in Italy Singles Top 50 chart, peaking at No. 1[1]. In other countries, however, "You Weren't There"

was less successful; failing to reach the UK Top 40, reaching a low #59.[2] Single Another Day was released in

Italy and Norway only, and didn't do as well as "You Weren't There", as it only peaked at No. 17 on Italy Singles

chart.[3] She also released "Sorry" but in Italy only. Another Day DVD it's the first DVD from Lene Marlin, The

DVD was out in stores in Italy on Sept. 19th, 2003. Everything (songs, interviews, comments, documentary, multiple

access to the video tracks, hidden photogallery - the pictures are hidden in litte stars appearing in the menus)

is very accurately structured. The result is 80 minutes that document the preparation, the content and the making

of "Another Day". The core of the DVD is the shooting of the playback performances of the songs in the Wessex

Studios in London together with the band. Every song is introduced by a comment from Lene herself taken from an

interview made in a little room where she wrote and rehearsed for the first time most of the songs of the album

with the band. The 10 songs are all the same versions on the CD, except track no.6 "My Love", which is performed

live and unplugged in another setting in the studios. Beside the 10 songs there are extra tracks, among which are

three previously unreleased ones: "Hope You're Happy", "It's All Good", "Enough" (these latter two were already

b-sides from the singles "Another Day" and "You Weren't There"), shot during the actual recording session in the

studio. A fourth extra track is a live acoustic version of "Sorry". As we said, in the DVD there is also an

extraordinary documentary, which leads us some more inside Lene's life during the months when "Another Day"

was recorded. Its main feature is another interview to Lene together with her producer Mike Hedges, made

after the end of the works for the album, in which they run trough all the stages of their work. Between

the exctracts we can see different scenes taken from the backstage and the recording sessions.
