Tools Large DPN or circular needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) Small DPN or circular needles: 2.5 mm (US 1 ½) Stitch markers, tapestry needle, a bit of cotton yarn. Measurements Knuckle circumference: S - 18 cm (7”) M - 19 cm (7.5”) L - 20 cm (8”) Linen stitch has slightly less stretch than stockinette stitch, have it in mind when considering your ease, especially if substituting for less elastic yarns. Yardage S: 129 m (140 y) M: 133 m (145 y) L: 166 m (180 y) One skein of each colour generally suffices, depending on size and which colour you use for the ribbing.
