The life of Metis rebel Louis Riel, the messianic prophet who led the aboriginal peoples of western Canada in a revolt against the attempt to take away their lands and rights.

Set to music by Harry Somers with a libretto by Mavor Moore - the Lullaby is particularly famous.

Dedicated to the Idle No More movement, I hope the aboriginals get a better deal this time.
