A movie "Mom's Boys" which is about two wintered headbanger, requires of course a soundtrack that sounds like " true "that the role of the characters hårfästen are thin. SPINAL TAP alarm is unlocked, but when it then appears that the gentlemen behind the film created the band LUDOR is no less than Mats Leven and Jimmy Lagnefors (wrote the soundtrack to many of Ulf Malmros movies) it immediately becomes more interesting and hopeful. Mats Leven and Jimmy Lagnefors are both so knowledgeable that they can write quality NWOBHM-reeking power metal with a falsetto that could be released by a "real" band, but still with plenty of very "tongue in cheek" and the right cliché buttons down without becomes obvious disfigurement comedy and pastiche. 'Ride The Vapor' (where you first think Mats howls "ride the diaper") is a good example of that; JUDAS PRIEST at their most pubertal moments lyric wise but with razor-sharp musical performance. Likewise with 'Hellfire' and 'Piece By Piece'. It flirted with MANOWAR-machismo in 'Rise And Conquer' and the title track's simple chorus will surely be the new motto of the metal heads in this summer's festival adventures. ballads 'Betrayed' and 'Believe' helps with variety and nuances, especially in the latter where Mats raspy tone will particularly valuable. A credit must also be given to former Clawfinger drummer Henka Johansson, hired for the project and provides a steady accompaniment in both the fast and epic pieces. "Mammas boys" feel appear to be the weakest film in the otherwise admirable Ulf Malmros brief, but where the film falls instead LUDOR stands firmly on its skinnbralleklädda legs.
