Lynyrd Skynyrd Asbury Park, New Jersery 7-13-1977

Film RIP of Original Master Film circa 1977. Proof this came off master is from timecode and camera number appearing before being edited out by studios.


A TRULY RARE FIND! Recorded live in Asbury Park, NJ on July 13,1977. . This footage is filmed in BLACK & WHITE & though it does have some flaws in the film, the picture & sound are still very good.

Just one week after Day On The Green #5: Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Santana, Outlaws July 4, 1977. This is also shot just three months prior to the release of the STREET SURVIVORS album and is the last Pro Shot film footage of a full Lynyrd Skynyrd set before the fatal plane crash of 20 October 1977.

These have the timer code at the top as well & an annoying "ME-25" in the center of the screen. This is some sort of film code. Proof that this came off the master tape and is information for editors. It's there but doesn't really distract the watcher from such an awesome film. This filmed set was probably intended for U.S. release on home video but was later ruled out by the unfortunate number of flaws, specifically in almost all of Steve Gaines' guitar solos.

Lynyrd Skynyrd's One More For From The Road recorded and released in '76 was only a live album although was intended to be a live album and home video, so I am guessing they were making up for that here but had to discard the entire set because of the prophetically timed flaws only in the solo's of Steve Gaines. After many attempts they would never release a full set for home video of this electrically charged lineup.
