Opis:

Amerykanin John Creasy jest człowiekiem, którego nawet na jawie prześladują koszmary z przeszłości.
Często zagląda do kieliszka, ma myśli samobójcze, gdyż poszukuje sensu swego życia.
Tego szuka nawet w Biblii, ale ona nie daje mu odpowiedzi.
Jego przyjaciel Rayburn znajduje mu w Meksyku posadę ochroniarza dziewczynki imieniem Pita Ramos,
która jest córką bogatego Meksykanina Samuela i Amerykanki Lisy.
W Meksyku od jakiegoś czasu coraz częściej zdarzają się porwania dla okupu i nie tylko.
Ofiary rzadko kiedy wychodzą z tego cało - są okrutnie okaleczone lub po prostu bestialsko mordowane.
Creasy ma za zadanie właśnie przed tym ochraniać Pitę.
Na początku Creasy z trudem znosi obecność ciekawskiej i rezolutnej dziewczynki,
która stara się z nim zaprzyjaźnić. Jednak Creasy uważa, że jej rodzice zapłacili mu za jej pilnowanie,
a nie za coś więcej. Na szczęście dziewczynka ma ten dar,
dzięki któremu udaje jej się jednak zaprzyjaźnić z ochroniarzem.
Dzięki niej Creasy wreszcie odnajduje sens swojego życia, odstawia alkohol i zaczyna się wreszcie uśmiechać,
cieszyć życiem. Niestety, pewnego dnia sielanka dobiega końca.
Bandyci urządzają zasadzkę i pomimo bohaterskiej walki Creasy'ego - Pita zostaje porwana,
a on w ciężkim stanie trafia do szpitala. Pomimo tego obiecuje sobie pomścić swoją małą przyjaciółkę.

Storyline:

A wave of kidnappings has swept through Mexico, feeding a growing sense of panic among its wealthier citizens,
especially parents. In one six-day period, there were twenty-four abductions,
leading many to hire bodyguards for their children. Into this world enters John Creasy,
a burned-out ex-CIA operative/assassin, who has given up on life.
Creasy's friend Rayburn brings him to Mexico City to be a bodyguard to nine-year-old Pita Ramos,
daughter of industrialist Samuel Ramos and his wife Lisa.
Creasy is not interested in being a bodyguard, especially to a youngster,
but for lack of something better to do, he accepts the assignment.
Creasy barely tolerates the precocious child and her pestering questions about him and his life.
But slowly, she chips away at his seemingly impenetrable exterior, his defenses drop, and he opens up to her.
Creasy's new-found purpose in life is shattered when Pita is kidnapped.
Despite being seriously wounded during the kidnapping, he vows to kill anyone ...
