Maniac 2, Mr. Robbie HD 1986 [7mins]

Joe Spinell returns as Mr. Robbie, a children’s TV show host who moonlights as a murderous vigilante. You see, Mr. Robbie takes it upon himself to not only entertain his fans, but dispatch of their abusive parents, as well.



There are seven minutes of footage, essentially consisting of three scenes.



Mr. Robbie receives a desperate letter from a kid named Billy. So, the next day, he meets his producer for drinks at a restaurant where Billy’s father works as a cook. Afterward, Robbie inhales a pile of blow, locks the cook in a full-nelson and boils his face in a vat of hot water. Then, to top it all off, he stabs him in the eye and delivers one of the best one-liners in cinematic history.



Evidently, this was intended not only as a sequel to Maniac, but also as a remake of a lesser-known movie titled The Psychopath which involved the exact same plot.



Why It Never Happened

Production on Maniac 2 ended abruptly because of star Joe Spinell’s untimely death three years later. The film was still just a premise at the time of his passing.
