Most TV is predictable, but Marco Pierre White very much isn't. That makes for awkward encounters and odd scenes, but it also keeps you on the edge of your seat. And I've grown to like his no-nonsense style of delivering the recipes, the subtext of which is "Behold, little people, how easily I create such masterpieces! Now you try, I dare you!" This week the wandering chef visits Lymington in the New Forest where he collects gulls' eggs, before composing a dish of gulls' eggs and celery salt. He visits the Severn and Wye Smokery where he tries the smoked eel, to be combined, back in his kitchen, with potato salad. He also visits Morecambe to sample the potted shrimp. And no episode would be complete without Marco shooting something feathered or furry: this week it's the squirrel's turn. Squirrel pie, anyone?
