Many of them were pastors or missionaries. Others were lay men and women who, though working in secular jobs, took their calling to serve Christ in the world very seriously. In each case, their desire to follow Christ faithfully to remain faithful to the truth He taught and to the Church He established through His apostles led them to embrace the Catholic Church. These conversion stories provide insight, encouragement, and inspiration for those who are thinking about making the same journey and for Catholics born in the faith as well. About the Author My wife Marilyn and I were both cradle Protestants, and I was an ordained Presbyterian minister, before we were received into the Catholic Church in 1992. (For the story of Marcus journey click here; for the story of Marilyn s journey click here). Our journey into the Catholic Church was exciting and fulfilling but also very lonely. We knew only a few other ministers who, like us, had become Catholic. We knew very few Catholics, and none of our Protestant friends could understand why we were doing such a foolish thing. After we became Catholic, we began to meet other clergy converts as well as clergy and their families who were still on the journey home. Together we saw the need for converts and their families to provide a network of help to others still on the journey. This is how the Coming Home Network International (CHNetwork) began in 1993.
