DescriptionThe term Bronze Age was first used by comic book fandom and later the Overstreet Price Guide to refer to the more mature and modern comic books of the early 70s to the mid-80s. The acknowledged catalysts of the Bronze-Age are the first appearance of the Punisher (Amazing Spider-Man #129), the Death of Gwen Stacy (Amazing Spider-Man #121). The X-Men title (suspended in 1970), was continued in 1975 by Chris Claremont with all-new team and became a phenomenal success. The 1971 revision to the Comics Code also relaxed the rules on the use of vampires, ghouls and werewolves in comic books, allowing the growth of a number of supernatural and horror-oriented titles, such as Swamp Thing, Ghost Rider, The Tomb of Dracula and Werewolf by Night. Well, imho.
