DescriptionMetal Inquisitor - Ultima Ratio Regis (2014) [Gorgatz] - I N F O - The fastest METAL INQUISITOR are truly not. With "Ultima Ratio Regis" the only fourth studio album of the band originating from Koblenz appears. Sure, the quantity of publications has never stated anything about the musicianship of a band. A little more speed can the true metalheads but then submit. For in spite of modest discography includes METAL INQUISITOR the spearhead of the German True Metal movement. It can also "Ultima Ratio Regis" no doubt. The Koblenz (where DISASTER drummer Tormentor even sat behind the kit) mix the teaching of the German school alá ACCEPT and bands like JUDAS PRIEST, and the NWOBHM in general to their own idea of Heavy Metal. So there is also the "Ultima Ratio Regis" crunchy riffs abound on the ears, pumping percussion and plenty of True Metal-Spirit, which is perfectly embodied by the voice of singer El Rojo. Songs like the opener "Confession Saves Blood", "Burn Them All" or "self-denial" offer perfect power food for the rivets and Kettenbehangenen traditionalists. With "Call The Banner" and the famous final album "Second Peace Of Thorn" but rise two pieces over the rest of the album. "Call The Banner" is likely due to its anthem character (with subtle influences of old RUNNING WILD) be live a new bank in the set of Koblenz. The Concluding, long over seven minutes "Second Peace Of Thorn" convinces with its reminiscences of BLACK SABBATH (DIO era) and completes the album zine. Unfortunately, however, also discloses "Ultima Ratio Regis" the same weaknesses, among which his predecessors had already suffering. It lacks the hymns, the sustainability factor. The songs are of good quality, but not remain hanging in the ear with very few exceptions. Very unfortunate because METAL INQUISITOR have, compared to genre colleagues as MAJESTY, but much more bite and ass in the pants. "Ultima Ratio Regis" but is not a bad album. The target audience will arrest the plate anyway, but then for more than a recommendation for fans of the band, it is not enough. Genre aficionados should also listen to the plate. If the guys had one, two 'hits' packed on their plate, would certainly have been more to it. Is Musically, as I said, everything's alright. Your position in the scene, the boys strengthened to Blumi with "Ultima Ratio Regis", but the last whistle is missing. - T R A C K L I S T - 01. Confession Saves Blood 02. Burn Them All 03.
