Microsoft Music Producer v.1.0.zip (RARE Working MS-INTERNAL Copy)

Included in the pre-1996 MS-InterDev Suite, Microsoft Music Producer is an amazing, intuitive MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) creation program that let's you create music YOU own the rights to. Even if you've never created music before, you can in seconds with this software.

It's great for creating tunes in any genre of music--from Jazz to Americana to Folk to Rock to Country to Blues to Grunge and all the way to Reggae.

Just choose the genre you like and press "Compose" to let the random-number-generator-driven subroutines in this software create a random, but musically-sound and audibly structured, tune based on the settings you chose. Move the instruments around from left speaker to right speaker, from loud to soft, from sad to weary to upbeat to funky to serious to boogie--and when you find the randomly-generated tune you like, save it as a MIDI file.

Then you can hop over to http://www.zamzar.com/ or some such similar site and convert your generated MIDI file to MP3 (for FREE) for your listening pleasure.

Make unique tunes for all your videos. Create mellow background music for any event. The best thing is that YOU own the rights to the music it creates. I got caught up for HOURS playing with this. It is truly amazing.

It baffles me how awesome software programs like this get lost because of a company's mismanagement--hell, look at the amazing application "Cooliris". Yahoo bought-out the Cooliris Team and their software then kicked them and the app to the curb. Cooliris was an awesome Graphical Wall for displaying images--like nothing you've ever seen. Look for a demo of it on YouTube. What a waste. But I digress...

Like Cooliris, Microsoft Music Producer NEARLY suffered the same fate.

Currently, any copy of Microsoft Music Producer you find out there will install fine but fail to run because the BETA period ended in 1997 and Microsoft lost interest/confidence in the application.
