This is book 8 of the Eve Dallas/In Death series, an excellent series of books and short stories set roughly sixty years in the future. The protagonist, Lieutenant Eve Dallas, is a Homicide detective in New York. (Some collectors call this "7.5" rather than "8" because it's a short story, not a full-length novel. It originally appeared in the anthology "Silent Night" with three other stories by other authors. Other short stories have followed in the years since.) The author is the extremely prolific romance writer Nora Roberts. She writes this series, and this series only, under the pen name J. D. Robb. This is my fourth release of this series. The earlier three versions were HTML only, and were released for me by other people, to whom I am very grateful. This version differs from the earlier releases in that: (1) HTML, EPUB, Movi, and PDF files are included, (2) I'm releasing each book or story separately, and (3) I'm releasing them myself.
