Mino Guerrini's ... The Third Eye (1966) ["Il terzo occhio"> [Italian Audio / English Subtitles] xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Third Eye (Italian: Il terzo occhio) is a 1966 Italian horror film. It was directed by Mino Guerrini: credited as James Warren. Joe D'Amato remade the film as 1979's Beyond the Darkness. The story of the film came from producer Ermanno Donati who is credited under the pen name Phil Young. The films credits state the plot is based off a story by Gilles de Rais but this is fictional. The film was originally titled Il freddo bascio della morte and went into production in June 1965. The film was shot at the Villa Parisi. The Third Eye came into trouble with censors in Italy on its release. On February 28, 1966 the film was rejected as it was considered to be "contrary to the public moral". The rejection also noted that "In addition many scenes of almost full female nudity and excessively graphic intercourses, the film features episodes of necrophilia, close-ups of horrific scenes with blood and brutal violence, presented with real sadism and a protracted insistence which conveys a sense of complacency by part of the makers". The film was later distributed in Italy by Medusa and released on June 11, 1966. It grossed a total of 72 million Italian lire. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx STORY: A young count that lives with his dominant and jealous mother, begins in a downward spiral into madness after his fiancée dies in an accident - or it wasn't an accident? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx CAST: Franco Nero as Mino (as Frank Nero) Gioia Pascal as Marta Erika Blanc as Laura / Daniela (as Diana Sullivan) Olga Solbelli as Mino's mother (as Olga Sunbeauty) Marina Morgan as Woman in the Nightclub xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx IMDB Rating: 6.2 (9/20/15) [0166377] Rating and parental guide info for this film: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0166377/parentalguide xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Video: 720x560 -- H.264 (x264) Audio: Dolby Pro Logic II -- 160kbps (Stereo) Language: Italian Subtitle(s): English (Burned-in only!) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Writing App: JEMIII Media XCode 1.88.316 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Help me to keep the best horror films accessible for many years to come! Sorry about that ... whomever's fault it is ....
Among the best works of Mino Guerrini, the movie full of gore, sadism and necrophilia revolves around an expert taxidermy hobbyist who is on the verge of insanity. He is dominated by his over possessive mother, fiancée and maid, each one trying to make him theirs. The maid wins the battle by murdering the competition. This tips him over the edge. He embalms his dead fiancée’s body and begins to randomly murder local girls with the maid's help. He then falls for his dead fiancée's sister. The maid tries to to kill her as well, only to become the final victim of his ritualized murders herself. He then elopes with his dead fiancée's sister hurdling both their doomed souls towards the film’s tragic end.
