Thames TV: Series One: Show Three: 17th September 1980



Ernie decides that Eric is getting far to cheeky, so he phones "Rent-a-Giant" & hires rather a big chap called Cosmo (Dave Prowse) to help with the discipline.



Later Ernie takes his partner to a Chinese restaurant - it's all very difficult because the tall one with the glasses prefers sausage, egg & chips.



Fantastic stuff, I was too young to appreciate Morecambe & Wise 1st time round but with all these videos coming out you get to see what a great act they truly were. At this point the ITV series are living up to the M&W legend, although I am aware that come some of the later series the gags are a bit recycled but come on, Eric was doing the paper cup & "sitting at my piano, the other day" gag since the early 70s & every time it gets a laugh.



There's once sketch somewhere where Ernie actually runs through everything Eric will do, "My little fat friend, you can't see the join, tea ern, strangles himself behind the curtain!"
