SLI 60' Berwick Auto Parts Boxcars

In the late 1970's, several rail car manufacturers were tasked with designing the next generation of auto parts boxcars. One such company was Berwick Forge and Foundry, in Berwick Pennsylvania. Their design, with waffle pattern exterior wall bracing and deep side sills, makes their boxcar one of the most unique examples of its kind. These cars were purchased by almost every major railroad in the United States, and are still in service today.
