Description

The EMD SD40-2 was one of the most popular locomotives ever, with thousands having been produced between 1972-1985. The Chicago & North Western (CNW) had over 100 of these units and used them systemwide. They are still in use today, although most of them have been re-painted into Union Pacific colors. The UP purchased CNW in 1995, effectively completing their goal to have a railroad which stretched from Chicago to Los Angeles.

Two SD40-2 locomotives are included in this package, along with a selection of rolling stock and a ready to run consists. Some rolling stock pieces were originally available in now discontinued rolling stock packages.
