SLI International Car Co. Wide Vision Cabeese Background Info The majority of caboose manufacturing in the United States began its decline in the 1980's. The International Car Company of Kenton Ohio was a major player in caboose manufacturing, particularly from the 1960's to 1980's. By the 1970's, only a few railroads were still manufacturing their own cabooses, and most were turning to more standardized designs. The International Wide Vision caboose is one such design, and variations of one form or another could be found on most major railroads from the 1970's to the end of caboose operations.
