Description

SLI Ontario Northland Trainset

The Ontario Northland Railway is a crown corporation owned entirely by the government of the province of Ontario. The railroad's history dates back to the early 1900's when the line was originally built to take advantage of the forest and mineral resources in Northern Ontario. The provincial government has been trying to privatize the railroad since 2000, but as of today, it is still crown-owned and operated. This train pack consists of three EMD SD75I locomotives and a consist of Ontario Northland freight cars. The SD75I locomotives, of which the ONR has 6, was tacked onto a CN order. These are their primary freight locomotives, handling the majority of their long distance freight trains.
