Description
In the early 1970's, the Union Pacific, Denver & Rio Grande Western, and the Santa Fe joined together to ship coal from the Sunnyside Branch on the DRGW Utah mainline to the Kaiser Steel facility in Fontana California. This service was primarily managed by the Union Pacific, and ran until the middle 1980's. The trains operated 3 times a week using purpose-built UP EMD SD45 locomotives, Thrall-built rotary coal gondolas, and UP cabooses. This product reproduces one of those trains, and includes an activity for the DRGW Green River Route.
