Naim NAT01 tuner rips, FLAC audiophile FM tuner, Galaxy G17 antenna

This is a reseed from an earlier lost seed. I have also stripped the clumsy Bitcomet padding files.

Rips made using the legendary Naim NAT-01 tuner fed with an aligned 17 element Ron Smith Galaxy G17 FM antenna. The tuner was slightly modded with Cardas caps bypassing the power supply filter caps as well as the output tantalum caps in the 321 output/gain board. Listen to the Tuck Andress track and you would swear it was 24/192 Hi-res recording instead of a CD grabbed through the airwaves. The very natural announcers voice at the end of the track discloses its FM-radio origins. This track was actually played in a Naim demo in Toronto a few years ago, with its FM tuner provenance kept unknown until the very end of the track.

There is also an 'antenna comparison' track, whereby the Galaxy G17 antenna was A-B-A-B-A-B swapped with a 5m length of speaker cable acting as an antenna. Both gave very strong signals, but there is a definite difference in audio quality. See if you can determine which was the dedicated FM antenna and which was the surplus speaker cable acting as an antenna.

If you have any doubts that a FM tuner can be a bona fide high end source than listen to these rips. This tuner was sadly discontinued a few years ago. If it were still in production it would probably sell for in excess of $5000, and would still be worth every penny. The FM antenna by the way is a relative bargain at around $500.
