Description
NAZARETH - Nazareth It's Naz ('Snaz) House Full Live 2CD 2011 Remaster FLAC Digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition of this 1981 album from the Scottish Hard Rockers including 10 bonus tracks. One of Britain's hardest working bands, Dunfermline's Nazareth are road warriors par excellence. With additional guitarist Billy Rankin and keyboard maestro John Locke on board, Nazareth produced this potent live document during their 1981 North American tour. This version is augmented by bonus tracks drawn from the Seattle leg of the tour plus two further studio cuts by this new incarnation of the group. Whether you call Nazareth's first live album It's Naz or Snaz (sometimes 'Snaz, thanks to the somewhat ambiguous sleeve art), there is no denying its presence. On its release in 1981, they had been operating professionally for 13 years and were at the peak of their considerable powers. 29 tracks. Salvo. 2011. Just after the release of their last studio album Fool Circle , second guitarist Zal Cleminson left and with a North American tour looming the band decided to recruit not just another guitarist, but a keyboard player to fill out the stage sound. So, with Billy Rankin on guitar and John Locke on keyboards, the band went out on tour. The ensuing double album was recorded at just one gig and not cherry-picked from various dates along the way. The show recorded was in Vancouver during May 1981 and has Nazareth at the top of it’s from. Almost incessant touring throughout the previous decade had sharpened the band to the n’th degree and it is readily apparent on this CD, with is part of Salvo / Union Square music’s ongoing reissue plan of all the Nazareth albums. All the band’s show-stoppers are included in the set: Telegram, Razamanaz, This Flight Tonight, Hair Of The Dog and the searing Love Hurts all serve to show how potent this band from Dunfermline was – and still is. Great musicianship from the two new band members who fitted in nicely with the classic line-up of drummer Darrell Sweet, guitarist Manny Charlton, bassist Pete Agnew and singer Dan McCafferty – whose throat-shredding vocals make you instinctively reach for the Strepsils. Of particular note are Java Blues and Cocaine, which has the band at it’s gut-wrenching best. There are some bonus tracks with this reissue, starting with seven more live tracks from the tour, but this time from the Seattle gig. And the 2CD set ends with a couple of studio tracks, Morgantau, which is the German version of Morning Dew; and Crazy, which featured in the soundtrack of the film Heavy Metal. Related Torrents
