It's no ordinary birthday party and he's no ordinary guest of honour. Nelson Mandela's appearance at his 90th birthday concert in London is being billed as his last public engagement, so it's sure to be an emotional do. Tripping over each other to pay tribute will be movie stars including Will Smith, Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker. Gordon Brown and Bill Clinton will be there, nodding along to acts including Queen (with Paul Rodgers on vocals), Razorlight, Annie Lennox, Sugababes and Leona Lewis. Inevitably, though, all eyes will be on Amy Winehouse to see if the troubled singer has shrugged off her demons. If there's a catch, it's that any occasion where A-listers show how committed they are to a worthy cause always has the potential of tipping into treacle. Remember Live Earth last year? For Nelson's sake, let's hope this is much, much better.
