Because it's higher quality! Since cable providers provide both TV and internet over the same wire, they use heavy compression on their TV signals to reduce the amount of bandwidth the TV signals use and increase the bandwidth available to be used for internet traffic. Since there are fewer OTA channels than there are on cable or satellite, there's lots more bandwidth available per channel for OTA broadcasters. That means their signals are broadcast at higher bitrates (usually in the 12-15Mbps range) than cable or satellite (typically in the 8-10Mbps range). Why should you care? Because the picture is clearer! It's also more proof that your cable/satellite provider is charging you more and giving you less when it comes to TV service. Why is this file so big? Because it's higher quality! If you're like me, recording quality matters. If large file sizes bother you, then thanks for reading this far, but this torrent probably isn't for you. Other folks are posting smaller files containing lower quality recordings, but fuzzy and/or pixelated pictures and compressed sound distract me from the actual content. If recording quality is a big deal to you, then please enjoy! Related Torrents
