Nirvana
Discography 1989 - 2013

Nirvana - American rock band, created by singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. As a part of the team went through a few drummers; the longest with a group of drummer Dave Grohl played, joined the Cobain and Novoselic in 1990. Nirvana entered the musical mainstream, popularizing a subgenre of alternative rock called grunge. Kurt Cobain did in the eyes of the media is not just a musician, and "voice of a generation" and Nirvana became the flagship of "Generation X". Short but colorful history group was interrupted due to the death of Kurt Cobain April 5, 1994, but in subsequent years the team known only grew.
Stephen Thomas Erlevayn, music critic site Allmusic.com, wrote that to Nirvana «alternative music does not take seriously the major record companies." After the release of Nevermind «everything has changed, it is unclear for the worse or for the better." The success of Nevermind not only made popular grunge, but also showed a "cultural and commercial potential of alternative rock in general." Other groups have been hit before, but according to Erlevayna, namely Nirvana «forever to break down barriers" between the world of alternative rock and popular music.
