Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) in questa nuova avventura è alle prese con la strana muffa corrosiva che sta ricoprendo gradualmente la Tavola di Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek); il coraggioso guardiano dovrà allora recarsi al British Museum di Londra per venire a capo del problema e permettere alla magia notturna di continuare a fluire. Una volta arrivati dovranno recarsi nell'ala egizia del museo e risvegliare il Faraone Merenkahre (Ben Kingsley), padre di Ahkmenrah, per farsi rivelare il segreto della tavola. Ma gli imprevisti, anche in quest'ultimo capitolo, sono dietro l'angolo.
