The ideas of Sigmund Freud remain as provoking nearly a half-century after his death as they were during his life. ''Freud Under Analysis'' begins in Vienna before the turn of the century and takes us up to current attacks on Freudianism's scientific pretentions. It's a model of the expository documentary. The producer, Susanne Simpson, weaves together home movies of Freud and his disciples with comments on his work by today's critics and defenders. (A psychoanalyst who had his own analysis under the master in the 1930's remembers greeting him, ''Herr Professor, I had some really good dreams last night.'') The program doesn't try to do too much, but what it does, it does intelligently and fairly.
