Wow, so I don't think your comment could be any more full of inaccuracies than it already is, lol. For one, DCP hasn't gone away entirely. They were severely diminished by Novus' formation, but they're still hanging in there. Two, Novus isn't solely dedicated to older comics. The group releases a more even mix of older and newer comics than any other group. I think you're used to most groups solely focusing on what's new, that when you see a nice mix of the various ages, it's unique.
As for your first question, the weekly Novus thread, which predates the goldenage pack as it were, has always been a catchall for everything released by Novus for that particular week. Almost everything, if not everything contained in this pack has been posted in bits and pieces individually throughout the week, including, as you mention, the golden age pack. This torrent however, is intended to be a retrospective of sorts, recapping what the group has released for the week as a whole. If this isn't useful to you, then perhaps you're not the intended audience.
