Description
O.J.: Made in America is a 2016 American five-part documentary miniseries (464 minutes long) directed and produced by Ezra Edelman for ESPN Films and their 30 for 30 series. The documentary explores two of America's greatest fixations – race and celebrity – through the life of O. J. Simpson. It starts with his emerging football career at the University of Southern California, and why America fell in love with him. Also covered is a bit of the past history of injustice towards blacks in the USA and California, including by police forces, and how many famous American black athletes got together in the late 1960s to try and bring attention to this. O.J. was recruited to be a part of this effort but he was shown to be reluctant to be pigeon-holed as black. Then Simpson's football career in Buffalo and marriage to Nicole Brown are focused on. Now, suddenly, the film moves to O.J. being accused of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, the trial, his acquittal, and the events that followed. Finally, Simpson's life for the thirteen years after his acquittal is revealed, including the 2007 crime for which he is now in jail.
O.J.: Made in America premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on 22 January 2016, and debuted on ABC on 11 June 2016, as a five-part miniseries event that continued on ESPN. It has received wide-spread acclaim. Related Torrents
