Abe is a first class Mudokon floor-waxer for RuptureFarms. He was catapulted into a life of adventure when he overheard plans by his boss to turn all the Mudokons into Tasty Treats as part of a last-ditch in Molluck the Glukkon's meat-packing empire. During his escape from RuptureFarms, Abe received a vision from the mysterious Big Face, showing Abe that he must not only rescue his fellow Mudokons, but also protect all of Oddworld's creatures from the predatory Magog Cartel.
Enter Oddworld's surreal sensory overload of pure gaming and claim your destiny. Saviour or salami? You decide.

Odd things are happening at the SoulStorm Brewery. It seems that the evil Glukkons are using Mudokon tears as a key ingredient to their best-selling beverage, SoulStorm Brew. And they'll stop at nothing to get them, for torturing the Mudokons is their preferred lifestyle!
Abe's peaceful retirement was shattered when visited by a vision from the Three Weirdos. Abe learned the Magog Cartel was mining Necrum, the sacred Mudokon city of the dead, to collect bones to make super-addictive SoulStorm Brew.
After freeing the Mudokon spirits imprisoned in the Mudanchee and Mudomo Vaults, Abe gained scary powers from the Weirdos, including the ability to heal his Mudokon friends of SoulStorm addiction, and the power to turn invisible. Infiltrating the transportation hub of FeeCo Depot, and using explosive farts to survive adventures at the Slig Barracks and Bonewerks, Abe broke into SoulStorm Brewery.
Once again, it's up to Abe to save his race, with just his loincloth, chants and wits. Not to mention a bad case of gas. Sound odd? Welcome back to Oddworld.

Mix platforming action with "live" ammo combos, shooter fights ranging from careful sniping and trap shooting to run and gun action, vary the bosses, add a pinch of humor and some redneck chicken people and you've got Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath.
Oddworld is a linear action shooter-platformer hybrid based on the concept of hooking crooks dead or alive. Bringing in the baddies who are still screaming can be a heck of a challenge at times, but also nets you more money. The system greatly favors capturing your opponents, which is a refreshing change from the usual run-gun and forget scenarios of most fps games today. The graphics are great for the time, and the resolution updates present in the pc version bring it to the standards of a modern console shooter. The audio is crisp, and the dialogue for other characters holds up throughout; but the main character's lines tend to be fairly dry and are used to guide the player into the next puzzle-action shooter sequences. More importantly, the game is fun throughout; though there isn't much incentive to replay the game after you've beaten it (there is no multiplayer). If you're an FPS fan on pc looking for something a more than a little different, here's your title. :)
