Their signature style became a landmark in modern Senegalese music by integrating Afro-Cuban rhythms with the local Wolof and Mandinka traditions, resulting in an easy going groove and an infectious, sensual swing, qualities that mark their work to this day. The álbum features many of the original members, including vocalists Balla Sidibe and Rudy Gomis, saxophonist Issa Cissoko, and guitarist Barthelemy Atisso. A remake of the Cuban classic “El Son Te Llama” is sung by Medoune Diallo, a Pirates Choice vocalist. The band revives great older Baobab songs like "On Verra Ça" and "Ndongoy Daara," brings in a few folk tunes, and rounds out the album with strong new material.
