1800s Cuban coffee plantation owner Antonio Banderas is surprised when the plain mail-order bride he sends for from the U.S. turns out to be sexy beauty Angelina Jolie...and even more so when, a short time later, his new wife vanishes, along with his fortune.
Banderas begins an obsessive search for Jolie, but does he want her back...or want her dead?
Based on a Cornell Woolrich novel that also inspired Truffaut's "Mississippi Mermaid," this steamy thriller also stars Thomas Jane, Jack Thompson.
