I found a great solution to try Yosemite and keep my mavericks running too
I installed Yosemite on an external drive and i can switch between mavericks and Yosemite easily.
I also installed iOS 8 (no need for developer account nor registering UDID) on one of my iOS devices to try the new features.
torrent itself is mega fast
the downloaded file works great- thumps up for uploader (OMNIRIPS)
instructions to install
1- open up the downloaded .dmg file (takes some minutes to open up)
2- drag and drop the yosemite install file into the applications folder in finder
3- go to the application folder and click on yosemite to install
unless you want to make a clean install (deletes all your installed programs and apps and formatted your hard drive to factory settings)
instructions for clean install
1- use unibeast or disk utility to copy the downloaded file on a usb drive (at least 8 gigabytes)
2-restart your mac
3-press and hold pressing the option key while getting restarted
4- choose your usb drive to install the yosemite from
5- choose your boot drive to install yosemite on.
after installation
most of my installed applications do not work on yosemite
for e.g
little snitch
final cut pro
cleanmymac 2
eyetv
tuba
internet in safari and firefox
and really more than those ones
after one hour of having a look in this new realse ,I deleted it and reinstalled my beloved mavericks from the backuped time machine
I just wanted to have the new functions, But how the new OS X looks,is not that good that i expected from apple
This is VERY BETA and really buggy, most programs by 3rd parties do NOT work, and basically without iOS 8 in your iPad o iPhone you will not be able to take advantage of all the new stuff published by Apple. and will be limited to pre installed Apps from Apple.
Things that I found did NOT work are the following
FCPX
MASCHINE and all of NI programs, (I have a updated legal copy of Komplete Ultimate)
Handsoff
LOGIC X opens but crashes
iTunes has a white bar on the top of movies and videos
MacBluray player crashes opening films
Adobe CC production suit all programas crash.
Cinema 4D r15 does not open.
FXfactory does not open.
I signed up for the BETA but to be honest with you, I doubt very much that I will indeed take advantage of this BETA when it rolls out.
I will wait until I can use the dark theme, but with all the childish icons and the vivid colours used in the OS, this has definitely become OS Fisher Price and it will not be usable in a working environment, I and many pros could not pull out our laptop´s with a client in its current form and expect them to take us seriously unless I was working at Disney or the cartoon network
If you want to have a look the download is AMAZINGLY FAST, but take into account you WILL move back to 10.9 the same day
