Description
The Barnyard is a nickname for the farm, which is the home for Otis and his best friends.
Duke shot the Barnyard Safety Film at the Barnyard in the 1950s, which means that the farm must be at least 50 years old. This is true because once the Barnyard was haunted by Winky, who claimed to be 150 years old, which means the barnyard must be at least 150 years old. Duke has also mentioned that he has the sheepdog for a long time which backs up this fact. Residents Humans The only human on the farm is the Farmer. It was also revealed that he had a wife that used to live at the farm with him. She is presumably deceased. Also, there may have been other humans who lived on the farm before them. Animals Numerous animals live at the Barnyard, mostly in the barn. Main Characters: Otis: A male dairy cow with an udder who lost his mother when he was a calf, which means that he was at the Barnyard first. Pip: A mouse who lives in a mouse hole in the side of the barn. Freddy: A ferret who is Peck's best friend. His true origins (or why he lives at the Barnyard) are unknown. Peck: A danger-prone rooster who shares a stall with Freddy. Pig: A pig who lives in a mud hole outside the barn. Abby: A dairy cow who becomes Otis' girlfriend after Daisy and Lil' Ben left. Bessy: A dairy cow who lost her calf when he was a baby. She is crushed on by Pip. Duke: A sheepdog who has lived at the Barnyard longer than anyone else there. Farmer Farmer Buyer, better known as the Farmer, is a character in the Barnyard franchise. He is Duke and Everett's owner who runs the Barnyard. The Farmer is a friendly man who makes sure his animals on the Barnyard are safe and away from danger. Appearance The Farmer is a short man with overalls and a farmer hat. Trivia The Farmer is a vegetarian, as revealed in one episode of Back at the Barnyard. In "Buyers Beware," it is revealed that the Farmer's last name is revealed to be Buyer. However, his real full name and age is unknown. In the same episode, it was revealed that he was once married and his wife is presumably dead. In one episode of Back at the Barnyard, the Farmer shows a photo of his mother, telling her that he is a winner when he was a teenager. Peck is the secondary tritagonist of the Barnyard franchise. He is one of Otis' best friends. Appearance Peck is a red (seemingly nude) rooster. He has blue eyes, a round-ended sharp tongue, feathery arms, a red snide, and red feathers atop his head. He has a round upper beak (used as lips) and a skinnier lower beak where his red snide is. His last feature are two skinny legs. Practically, all of him is thin because of lack of food (at least in the show) and because his body feathers are possibly trimmed off, thus revealing his skinny, pink (sometimes red) body. Personality Peck is typically gentle, friendly, and very intelligent, although commonly joins his best friend Freddy in doing strange or dangerous activities. No matter what ideas the other animals come up with, Peck is quick to point out the flaws and is one of the most sane animals in the main cast. Peck is fully aware of his best friend's carnivorous thoughts, and it obviously makes his very nervous, but it doesn't effect their relationship. Peck is also very forgiving, having instantly forgiven Freddy's parents for trying to eat him. Trivia In the Back at the Barnyard online game Boy Tipping, it is revealed that Peck is the fastest and stealthiest. Pig is a character in Barnyard and Back at the Barnyard. He is one of Otis' best friends. Early life Nothin really is known about Pig's life, but in the episode with Freddy's parents, he implies that he was born to parents who thought leprechauns were stealing their gold, it is unknown if they have gold. Pig's parents may have been the second generation of pie-making, behind Pig's deceased grandmother Granny Pig, whom he implies he inherited a pie recipe from, he may have used to live with his grandmother in his early years and loved her pie. Pig is very greedy and likes a lot of food, he is very caring for his pet Skunky, he enjoys laying in mood and keeps his stall a mess. He likes food and in an episode, he ate all the corn in the cornfield and eats ranched food, in one episode, he ate cake made of TNT. Pig is a pink pig. Freddy is the tritagonist of the Barnyard franchise. He is one of Otis' best friends. Appearance Bright red nose Whiskers Carmel - colored coat of fur Long feet Stubby legs Teardrop shaped, pink ears Sharp teeth Brown eyes Long tail, similar in appearance to a dinosaur's Mohawk Personality Freddy is neurotic, jittery, and appears to suffer from multiple personality disorder at some points. He is best friends with Peck, but constantly has to resist his carnivorous instincts to avoid eating his best friend, despite being a vegetarian. Freddy is rather dim-witted and confirmed to be illiterate. He is one of the most paranoid animals in the series. When he is his alter-ego Paranoid Man, he consistently says, "Stop looking at me!". Trivia Freddy's name is also spelled Freddie. In the episode, Escape from the Barn, when Otis was cooked with the Quick Fryer, Freddy almost tried to eat him, revealing that he likes steak too. It was revealed in the movie that Freddy is addicted to dairy, especially Otis's milk. Pip is the deuteragonist of the Barnyard franchise. He is Otis' best friend and assistant. Pip speaks Spanish and has a Latino accent. He has a huge (although not mutual) crush on Bessy. Pip is known to be an eccentric, yet well-meaning, friend. He is best friends with Otis and most of the other inhabitants of the Barnyard. Pip is a morning person who only needs 44 minutes of sleep everyday. He is also a night person and oftentimes does all-nighters. Appearance Pip is a grey house mouse. Unlike stereotypical cartoon mice who have buck teeth, Pip has perfect white teeth. Like all mice, Pip has huge round ears. He has blue eyes and mainly has bluish-gray fur and has whitish-grey fur on his stomach. He has no fur on his hands, feet, tail, lips, or inside of his ear. He has a black nose, where next to each side of his face are two black whiskers. Trivia In Barnyard, it was once rumored that Cheech Marin was one of the alternate voices of Pip. Pip likes to jump around on Otis. Related Torrents
