You Don't Miss Your Water [0:02:48.70] Otis Blue: Otis Redding Sings Soul is the third album from Otis Redding and is considered by many critics to be Redding's first great album. It includes three covers of songs by his idol Sam Cooke, "A Change Is Gonna Come", "Shake", and "Wonderful World", as well as B.B. King's "Rock Me Baby" and "My Girl" by the Temptations. Redding also covered "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones, recorded in July 1965, only two months after that single was released. Redding had never heard the original, which drew inspiration from R&B singers like Redding, and changed some of the words, including singing "satisfaction" as "satisfashion". He said, "I use a lot of words different than the Stones' version. That's because I made them up." "Respect" was a Redding original which became much more famous with Aretha Franklin's cover version. "I've Been Loving You Too Long", co-written with Jerry Butler, was Redding's biggest hit until the posthumous "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay". The album is ranked 74 on the List of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Related Torrents
