The beginning scene grabbed my attention. It succeeded in properly setting up the episode. I wasn't too sure of what to think about the main character at first. There was a cloud of mystery around him. As the episode continued, and the other characters began to emerge, I started to understand their aspects and how they relate to the situations in the episode. They all served their purpose in helping to develop the story line. There were some conflicts in place to help keep the viewer interested. A lot of answers to beginning questions came at the end. I recommended this series for anyone who has interest in possession or religious type of horror flicks. If the remaining episodes of the season are as enthralling as the first, then this series should be around for a while.
Outcast è la prima produzione originale targata FOX International Studios. La serie è un horror drama di 10 episodi che nasce come adattamento di un fumetto di Robert Kirkman, lo stesso visionario scrittore di The Walking Dead. Lo show andrà in onda su FOX dal 6 giugno in contemporanea mondiale.
Nato dalla mente geniale di Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) e dalla penna precisa di Paul Azaceta, approda su FOX Outcast, un horror drama che tratta le possessioni demoniache in un modo tutto nuovo.
Ci sarà, come per Rick Grimes e compagni, una forte introspezione dei personaggi alla costante ricerca del loro io.
La storia parte alle origini dell'esorcismo, sviscerando i riti più antichi di questa pratica così misteriosa e oscura agli occhi di molti. Il protagonista Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit) è infatti tormentato da possessioni demoniache fin dalla tenera età. Verrà aiutato in questa sua lotta interiore dal Reverendo Anderson (Philip Glenister), un prete di campagna che ha spesso avuto a che fare con esorcismi e altri rituali simili.
Kyle inizierà quindi un viaggio alla scoperta di quale sia la verità, alla ricerca di una vita normale che finora non ha potuto avere. Che sia l'inizio dello stravolgimento del suo destino e di quello del mondo intero
